Gov. declares emergency for San Mateo County flooding

Better late than never for San Mateo County -- on Friday Governor Jerry Brown issued an emergency proclamation, making the county eligible for funds to clean up the damage from heavy rains and flooding in December.

Just two days before Christmas the San Francisquito Creek overflowed, forcing evacuations and closing a freeway off-ramp.

County officials asked the governor for an emergency proclamation at the time.

No reason was given for the delay.
