Anti-abortion advocates may have to move 25 feet from clinic

SAN FRANCISCO

A city ordinance says protesters must stay eight feet away from people entering the clinic, but a quirk in the law lets them protest near the door as long as they stand still. The proposed law would create a wider buffer zone.

"What the buffer would do is basically create space around the front door that a protester could not enter," said Adrienne Verrilli from Planned Parenthood.

"They are not going to make us go away. Obviously, we're here. We're here to support women and we'll be as close as we possibly can," said Maureen, an anti-abortion protester.

Supervisor David Campos' proposal would keep protesters 25-feet away from the entrance of health clinics like Planned Parenthood.
