Giants invite fans to park for season opener

SAN FRANCISCO

The Giants are offering free admission into AT&T Park starting at noon for the team's 1 p.m. game against the Dodgers, which will be shown on the ballpark's high-definition scoreboard.

The first 5,000 fans will receive a coupon for a free hot dog and Giants cheer cards, while the first 3,000 will also receive a 2010 and 2012 World Series rings foam fist, according to team officials.

Across the Bay, the defending American League West division champion Oakland A's are hosting the Seattle Mariners in their season opener at O.co Coliseum.

Tickets are sold out for the 7:05 p.m. game and fans are encouraged to take BART to avoid heavy traffic around the stadium.
