Bomb squad investigation disrupts San Francisco 1906 Great Quake ceremony

Police said a suspicious package located in downtown San Francisco this morning is not an explosive device.

The package was reported at 2:47 a.m. near the intersection of Third and Market streets, police said. The suspicious package was located near Lotta's Fountain on Market Street, where a commemorative event for the 1906 earthquake was previously scheduled for this morning, police said. That event has been moved to Union Square and was scheduled to take place at 5:30 a.m..
