Tentative agreements reached with Palo Alto teachers

PALO ALTO, Calif.

Our media partner, the San Jose Mercury News reports 760 teachers would get a three percent pay raise and a one-time bonus.

The one-year agreement is the culmination of negotiations that took longer than usual because of fiscal uncertainty.

A similar deal was reached with 520 classified employees represented by the California School Employees Association.

The Palo Alto Unified School District Board of Education will hold a public hearing on both agreements Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., with a final vote to follow on May 7.
