It happened at 3:46 p.m. on Highway 13 just north of Redwood Road.
The driver lost control of the car, causing the SUV to roll several times.
One person was killed, and four others injured. Three people were transported to Highland Hospital, two in critical condition and one with minor injuries, and one was transported to a different hospital with moderate injuries.
The crash caused heavy delays during the late afternoon commute.
