Bike stolen at Bike to Work Day in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO

A group of bicyclists had stopped to cheer on their fellow bikers at the energizer station when a man grabbed one of the spectator's road bikes and took off. Some bikers gave chase, running as fast as they could, but the thief got away.

Ramon Solis was the owner of the bike that was stolen.

"He was on my bike and I was on foot and I have imagined myself in this situation so many times, but I couldn't catch up to him," said Solis.

Police arrived moments later and said they would be on the lookout for the thief.

The bike is a gray Biachi Axis with a Goner Records sticker on the frame. Solis said the bike is worth about $1,300.
