Valery Rozov, 48, is claiming a world base jumping record after he says he leaped from Everest's North Face Tuesday, more than 23,600 feet up. Rozov reached speeds of about 125 miles an hour as he sailed to a glacier more than 3,000 feet below.
The jump required two years of prep work and a four-day trek to reach the jump site.
By the way, it was 60 years ago today that Sir Edmund Hillary and his Sherpa guide became the first to reach Everest's 29,000 foot summit.
