Police say Amia Renee Stewart disappeared around 6 p.m. from a home on Wall Avenue where she was visiting family.
She was found just before midnight in good condition, sleeping beneath a bed inside the home.
Amia's mother, Christine Nance, expressed gratitude for all those who came out to help search for her daughter.
"I just want to tell everybody thank you," she said. "Amia means a lot to me. I'm sorry that she was in here. I feel like we looked for her really, really good and they had the dogs come in and everything. I'm sorry to put everybody through this, but I'm so happy she's okay and that nothing bad happened to her."
Police say Amia was in the middle of lots of things in the room and that is why her family didn't see her.
