Drakes Bay Oyster Farm gets vote of confidence

The Sonoma City Council voted Monday night in favor of a resolution calling for an investigation into the decision to close down the company.

In November, then United States Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar allowed a 40-year lease to expire, so the area could be returned into wilderness. But city leaders believe Salazar based his decision on flawed environmental impact studies.

The oyster farm remains in operation as it appeals Salazar's decision.
