The naked mole rat could hold the answer to curing cancer.

The African rodents live 30 years or more and are resistant to cancer. Scientists have identified a chemical that prevents the animals from getting the disease.

It's called hyaluronan and it exists between cells in tissue, but the quantity of the substance in the naked mole rat is five times larger than that found in humans.

Scientists hope the discovery could lead to a cancer treatment.
