SFO holding blood drive for victims of Asiana plane crash

July 14, 2013 12:00:00 AM PDT
San Francisco International Airport and local blood banks will be holding a blood drive Monday to help passengers and crewmembers of Asiana Flight 214.

It will be held at the airport, inside Terminal 3 at the arrivals level from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All airport employees and passengers are encouraged to donate. Officials say appointments are strongly recommended, but walk-ins will be accepted based on availability.

There's been a good response to previous blood drives to help crash victims.

Airport officials say Monday's drive will provide blood after supplies decreased following the crash.

At last report, 13 people of those injured remain in Bay Area hospitals. Two remain in critical condition.
