A former San Francisco crime lab technician was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of cocaine possession back in March.

Deborah Madden, 63, was sentenced to five of years of probation including one year of home custody with an ankle monitoring bracelet, 300 hours of community service, and a $5,000 fine.

She was previously tried twice on felony charges after admitting that she took small amounts of cocaine from the lab, but both trials ended with hung juries.

Madden worked for 29 years in the crime lab before the resigning in 2009.

Her case compromised hundreds of drug prosecutions in the San Francisco court system.
