Tall woman at higher risk of developing cancer

Researchers say for every four inches that a woman is above average height, she has a 13-percent higher risk of developing any cancer.

The Average height in the U.S. is 5'4".

They looked at post-menopausal women recruited through the Women's Health Initiative. The link is there, even after researchers considered factors such as age, hormone therapy, alcohol use, weight and ethnicity.

They suggest tall women get normal screening tests and try to reduce lifestyle risks such as drinking and smoking.
