A residential street in Fremont has reopened while the search continues for a pair of armed suspects who robbed a Milpitas home early Saturday morning, a police lieutenant said.

Scott Creek Road, a residential street located east of Interstate 680 in Fremont, reopened around 10 a.m. after being closed for several hours as officers searched the area for the pair.

The suspects were involved in a home invasion robbery on Pinard Street in Milpitas around 2:45 a.m., Milpitas police Lt. Max Nobida said.

Residents reported that two males armed with handguns entered the home and made off with various items.

About 25 minutes earlier, a Milpitas police officer had stopped a car in the 2200 block of Devon Place near the Milpitas-Fremont border. The vehicle stopped and the two occupants fled the scene on foot, Nobida said.

He said evidence found during a preliminary investigation linked the pair to the later home invasion robbery.

Officers and a SWAT team from the Fremont police department were called to aid in the search for the suspects around 4 a.m., according to police.

The two suspects, who are described only as armed males, remained at large as of 8:45 a.m.
