Help needed for California's annual Coastal Cleanup Day

Saturday is Coastal Cleanup Day in California. Volunteers are invited to come out to any one of the state's beaches to collect trash.

Last year, more than 65,000 people turned out to collect more than 700,000 pounds of garbage.

That's actually a lot less than in years past. Part of the reason is because of new bag fees and anti-litter laws that have reduced the amount of garbage that makes it to the coast.

Events kick off at 9 a.m. and typically end at noon at most beaches up and down the state.
