One dead, two injured in SF crash on I-80 off-ramp

SAN FRANCISCO

Officers responded to a report of a car crashing into a wall on westbound Interstate Highway 80 at the Fifth Street off-ramp at about 10:05 p.m. Saturday, Officer Peter Van Eckert said.

Three people were inside the car at the time of the crash, Van Eckert said.

One of the passengers was not breathing when crews arrived, and received CPR, according to Van Eckert.

That person was transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The other two passengers suffered injuries in the crash, but Van Eckert did not know their conditions.

A Sig-alert was issued at 10:12 p.m. when the CHP blocked off the Fifth Street off-ramp on westbound Highway 80 to investigate the crash, he said.

The off-ramp reopened at about 11:10 p.m.

Details of the crash were not immediately available.
