San Carlos may spend $250,000 to determine safety of pipeline

SAN CARLOS, Calif.

City Manager Jeff Maltbie plans to ask the city council to spend as much as $250,000 to investigate the issue.

On Wednesday, the city called off a state of emergency in place since last Friday.

The order came after an internal PG&E memo expressed concerns the pipeline could explode, just like the deadly incident in San Bruno.

The pipeline runs on Brittan Avenue, between Highway 101 and Interstate 280.
