Weddings, the birth of a child, promotions; all moments we share and celebrate today, as did people for centuries before us. The Joseon dynasty of Korea reigned for 500 years, one of the longest running dynasties in history. During that time people created beautiful works of art capturing their elaborate and royal celebrations, many of which transcend into today's Korean culture. Now, the Bay Area will have a unique opportunity to see these rare artworks, some of which have never left Korea, at San Francisco's Asian Art Museum.
Join ABC7, as we travel to Korea and explore not only the origins of these historic treasures, but also how they continue to influence the food, travel, and lifestyle in Korea today. From K-Pop stars to Korean delicacies, palaces, and vacation spots; we'll explore how this country's historic traditions continue to live on in Korea and beyond.
The special aired on ABC7 at the following dates and times: Saturday, 10/19/13 at 10:00 p.m.
