A storm in Northern Europe is producing massive waves off the coast of Portugal.

In fact, the folks at Guinness World Records are trying to determine if the giant wave ridden by Brazilian Carlos Burle Monday was the largest ever. Estimates put the wave at more than 100 feet.

American Garret McNamara holds the record with a 78-foot wave at the very same spot in Nazare two years ago this Friday.

Amazingly, Burle's ride came after he pulled a fellow Brazilian to safety after she fell off her board and was knocked unconscious. She was taken to a local hospital with a broken leg.
