Suspect vehicle crashes during Richmond police chase

RICHMOND, Calif.

Police were pursuing a suspect vehicle around 3:45 p.m. when the suspects crashed into another car near McDonald Avenue and Sixth Street, Richmond fire Chief Michael Banks said.

A passenger in the victims' car was critically injured and flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The driver suffered major injuries and was taken to another hospital by ambulance, Banks said.

Three suspects in the other car fled on foot after the crash, Banks said. They were not seriously injured.

Two were caught by police and taken into custody, while the third remained outstanding as of 4:30 p.m., Banks said.

No police vehicles were involved in the crash, Banks said.
