-Playback control of the stations local and network programming, interstitial elements such as commercials, promos, psa's, breaking news events, etc.
-Preparation and recording of the station ID's & promos for playback.
-Monitoring and control of the stations transmitters, backup switchers and distribution points.
-Perform EAS on local channels as per FCC guidelines.
-Communicate any programming discrepancies to the stations traffic department.
-Communicate any technical issues to the engineering department.
-Must be able to monitor and control multiple program streams to ensure that program continuity is met and that program and interstitial material is aired.
-Must be able to proficiently operate Master Control automation systems, servers, tape machines, routers, switchers, etc.
-Must be able to read and comprehend written program instructions and join programs in progress when necessary.
-Must be able to switch breaking news elements from the Master Control switcher. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate should be familiar with operating various technical types of broadcast equipment and monitoring the station's transmitter. He/she will be required to maintain a written discrepancy report and troubleshoot issues in Master Control. You should have a positive attitude, be detail oriented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Background clearance will be required. The Master Control Operators must also be flexible and available to work various shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
