Dash, an orange tabby cat, ran away after his owner moved from Fremont to San Jose in 2010. Dash's family searched, but never found him.
This week, he turned up at the Tri-City Animal Shelter in Fremont. A homeowner had been feeding him for years and assumed it was a neighbor's cat. A quick scan of his microchip revealed the cat was Dash.
The shelter contacted his family and Dash was reunited with his owners.
