Oakland police officers serving a search warrant on Thursday found what looks to be a dog-fighting operation.

The animals were discovered inside a home on Eldridge Avenue in East Oakland. One Animal Control officer was bitten as he was collecting the dogs.

"Eleven pit, pit mixes, fighting equipment, training apparatuses, weight belts, weight vests, treadmills, medications, syringes, things like that. Real classic dog fighting operation," said Dave Cronin of Oakland Animal Services.

Some of the dogs showed signs of abuse.

No arrests have been made. The investigation continues.
