Plane makes emergency landing at San Jose Airport

MINETA SAN JOSE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Flight 837 was on its way to Honolulu and had been in the air a little more than hour, when the pilot reported the plane was having circuit problems. He said there was a temporary power failure in the flight deck of one of six back-up navigation systems. He said he could have flown to Hawaii, but chose to turn around.

Emergency crews were ready on the tarmac. The jet touched down safely and was able to taxi to a gate under its own power.

The plane was carrying 140 passengers and crew. They're heading out on another flight soon.
