Engineers survey sinkhole that swallowed vintage Corvettes

BOWLING GREEN, Ky

Cameras on motion detectors inside the National Corvette Museum captured the scene as a giant sinkhole opened in the showroom early Wednesday morning.

Eight priceless Corvettes plunged into the hole that was 40 feet wide and 20 feet deep.

Curators were able to remove more than 20 other Corvettes that were parked in the same area.

The museum is just a mile from the GM plant that builds Corvettes and had loaned many irreplaceable cars to the museum.
