Morgan Hill police arrest suspect in attempted bank robbery

MORGAN HILL, Calif.

Officers responded to a report of an attempted bank robbery at the U.S. Bank inside the Safeway grocery store located at 100 Tennant Ave. at about 5 p.m., police said.

An investigation learned that the suspect passed a note to the teller demanding money. When the teller took too long to comply with the demand, the suspect fled, according to police.

Several hours after the attempted robbery, police located the suspect, Morgan Hill resident Shawn Circuit, in front of the CVS store located at 850 E. Dunne Ave., police said.

Circuit, who was identified from video surveillance at the bank, was arrested and later booked into jail.
