Mayor Jean Quan, Police Chief Sean Whent and schools Superintendent Gary Yee gathered at McClymonds High School Saturday morning collaborating with the community on plans to stop crime, reduce truancy in schools and improve job opportunities in their city.
Quan said Oakland has been transforming its police services over the last year focusing on several initiatives like hiring more officers and it's working.
She said Oakland crime is on a downward trend.
