Two men and two dogs had to be rescued from the Los Angeles River in Cypress Park Friday morning.

Rescue workers were called in after the four got caught in rising waters from a powerful rainstorm.

The water was moving swiftly, but crews managed to load both dogs into a raft in order to get them safely back to land.

The LA River is usually very quiet, barely a trickle. But Friday's storm turned it into raging waters.
