There are new details about physical evidence in the case of a San Jose police officer accused of rape.

Our media partner, the Mercury News, reports DNA of the female victim was found on the bullet-proof vest of officer Geoffrey Graves. Sources say that gives credibility to her allegations.

Graves is accused of attacking the woman at a hotel police took her to after she had a fight with her husband last September. The Mercury News says the she didn't come forward until three weeks later because she's in the country illegally and was afraid.

Graves is set to appear in court later this month.
