Drivers on the new Bay Bridge might find their eyes wandering to see what's happening as crews demolish the old Bay Bridge.

Crews have started one of the more dramatic and visual stages of dismantling the old bridge. CHP urge drivers to keep their eyes on the road on the new bridge, no matter how exciting the sights might be on the old bridge.

"As a driver any distraction can take your mind off the road," CHP Officer Michael Ferguson said. "Your most important priority though is the safety of your vehicle and the safety of your passengers and everyone on the roadway with you."

The demolition crews are taking the old Bay Bridge apart, piece by piece, in the reverse order that the structure was erected back in the 1930s.
