Cronut bakery shut down by Health Department due to mice

NEW YORK

After video surfaced online of mice in the Dominique Ansel Bakery at 189 Spring Street in SoHo, the Health Department sent inspectors to investigate and found a "severe mouse infestation" that required pest control services.

The bakery was shut down Friday afternoon.

The bakery can request a reopening inspection as soon as the problem has been fixed, which likely won't happen until Monday.

The last inspection of the bakery was on October 1st, 2013. Inspectors found "evidence of mice" but still gave them an A grade. A spokesman says this time around, there was significantly more.
