ReimagineSF is a new scholarship available for up to five undergraduate or graduate students at any San Francisco educational institution.
The scholarship, launched by San Francisco Supervisor Mark Farrell and the OpenGov Foundation, is designed to encourage youth to participate in local government and policy.
To be considered for the scholarship, individuals must suggest a new city policy or an update to a law on SanFranciscoCode.org between now and the third week of May.
SanFranciscoCode.org is a new non-profit and non-partisan website sponsored by the OpenGov Foundation.
The website's aim is to make city laws available to all residents in an accessible format and encourage discussion and interaction with civic policy.
"We live in the global center of technology and innovation here in San Francisco, and I believe it is crucial that all of us in City Hall find ways for technology to drive and promote further civic engagement," Farrell said in a statement.
Farrell and his staff will review all ideas left on SanFranciscoCode.org. Five scholarship recipients will be selected the third week of May.
Farrell said he will introduce any winning policy to the Board of Supervisors that in his judgment is based on good policy and beneficial to the city.
