As of Tuesday evening, firefighters are still working inside the home where the flames began. They are making sure flames don't spark back up and endanger more houses on the densely packed street near Duboce Park.
The wind became public enemy number one for firefighters.
The flames were sparked in the back of the house and quickly climbed up to the roof before firefighters even arrived. That's how it spread to two other houses within minutes.
"There was a lot of wind earlier and it was pushing it from the back. So, what is was it fed the fire. So, by the time they got here, usually what we try to do is confine it to one building. There was no doing that; it was already in the other two buildings," said San Francisco Fire Department Deputy Chief Mark Gonzales.
Though all the residents got out safely, one firefighter was injured. He suffered burns when a piece of hot material fell on him inside the first house to catch fire. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
At least, 10 people were displaced from their homes.
The Red Cross was on scene meeting with the families who were at a church nearby.
