California condor treated at Oakland Zoo

OAKLAND, Calif.

The stricken bird arrived at the zoo last Thursday. After undergoing several days of therapy, zoo officials say she is doing better.

Once she fully recovers, the condor will be released back into the wild at the Pinnacles National Park.

Lead from spent gun ammunition is how condors are typically poisoned and it's a real problem for the breed.

A state law passed last year has banned lead ammunition in California.
