Bay Area gets ready for Valentine's Day
Some people in the Bay Area are giving unique Valentine's Day gifts.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Many people across the Bay Area are gearing up for a sweet Valentine's Day weekend, but how are they getting ready.

"You get those people running last minute wanting to get the best deal," said vendor Josue Montoya.

Michael Merritt-Hutchins stopped by for a look at the goods for sale.

"Big box of chocolates, flowers, maybe a teddy bear," said Merritt-Hutchins.

The 22-year-old is shopping for his valentine. He plans to keep it traditional, but has a trick up his sleeve.

"I rewrote a song that was sang by Justin Bieber, just to fit our relationship, so I plan on singing that to her," said Merritt-Hutchins.

Just steps away, Flowers By Ivy has been slammed since Monday.

Red roses are always a safe bet, but these days, more people are turning to modern and vintage designs.

"Not uniform at all, little bit of branches, little bit of moss. Peonies, ranunculus, tulips, that create beautiful vintage arrangement," said owner Ivy Vuong.

Need a reservation for valentine's day? Good luck. Bourbon Steak and Pub at Levi's Stadium booked up nearly two weeks ago.

"We get a really nice mix of 49ers Faithful, but also too, we get a lot of locals that are looking for a special dining experience, our dining room is one of the most beautiful in the South Bay," said Chef Chris Curtiss.

But hey, you could always try singing a song.

"You're my special little lady, you're the one that makes me crazy, of all the girls I've ever known, it's you, it's you," said Merritt-Hutchins.

Truly a gift, that comes straight from the heart.
