Danville man sentenced for trust fund thefts

An admitted swindler who stole millions of dollars from Silicon Valley trust fund accounts will spend the next several years behind bars.

Leo Joshua Kennedy was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison. That is the maximum allowed under a plea deal with federal prosecutors. He also will likely be ordered to pay nearly $14 million dollars in restitution to his victims.

The 62-year-old from Danville pleaded guilty to fraud earlier this year. He is expected to report to prison on October 1.
