Billionaire Richard Branson calls for unlimited vacation policy

Billionaire investor Richard Branson is looking to Los Gatos-based Netflix to help shape his employee's vacation policy.

Branson has told his 160-employee-strong office staff at the Virgin Group they can take unlimited vacation -- as much time off as they want.

That may sound generous but it might not be.

The lack of a formal vacation policy actually might leave some employees feeling pressured to take fewer days off.

Branson says he was inspired by Netflix's unlimited vacation policy.

Make tech start-ups have adopted a similar benefit.
