SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Ride-service company Sidecar is making some changes to help riders feel safer driving with strangers.
The San Francisco-based company is now letting customers choose the gender of their driver.
Sidecar made the move after noticing more female riders choose female drivers when given the option.
The company publicized the move in a blog post about riding safely during the holidays, just days after an Uber-X driver in Boston was accused of raping a passenger.
