Target stores are looking to brighten their image after last year's disastrous data breach. The company is launching a back-to-school campaign with a social cause.

For every purchase of Target-brand school supply, the retailer will donate the same item to children in need. The campaign runs from July 15 to Aug. 2.

Target hopes to donate supplies for two million children.

The retailer has been trying to regain customer confidence after hackers stole millions of account numbers last fall.
