SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- United Airlines studying the prospect of outsourcing 2,000 airport jobs, including those at Mineta San Jose International Airport.

The Wall Street Journal reports the carrier is looking to outsource the jobs to vendors who would perform the duties at a lower cost.

This will impact 28 airports in all.

The jobs employ workers handling check-in, baggage handling and customer service.
