Reports of sexual assault on University of California campuses are on the rise.

However, the increase doesn't mean there are more attacks. It means more victims are coming forward.

Last year, there were 199 reports of forcible sex offenses on UC campuses up from 133 in 2012.

The spike follows years of controversy over how colleges handle rape allegations.

Earlier this year UC revamped its sexual violence and harassment policy and that strengthened reporting requirements.
