San Jose high school band invited to play in London

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- San Jose's Oak Grove High School Marching Band and Colorguard were invited to play in the 2018 London New Year's Day Parade.

They were formally invited during a ceremony on Friday with former Lord Mayor of Westminster Robert Davis.

"Only 12 high school sin the entire country were selected from around the United States of America to go to London in a parade that's going to have over 600,000 people in attendance and over 300 million people watching. This is an experience of a lifetime for them, of their young lives, and I hope that they really treasure it," San Jose councilmember Ash Kalra said.
