LOS ANGELES -- Cameron Diaz is a married woman! She and musician Benji Madden tied the knot, their rep told People magazine.

The rep said the two got married "in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles" on Monday.

"We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends," the couple told the magazine.

Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow were among the reported guests.

Diaz, 42, and the Good Charlotte singer started dating in May and got engaged right before Christmas.

The two were introduced by Madden's sister-in-law Nicole Richie, she revealed last year on "Watch What Happens Live."

Diaz and Madden first stepped out together in June, and photos of the couple going for coffee runs together started surfacing by July.

Diaz has spoken openly in the past about why she never got married and why she never had children.

She told Esquire in July, "It's so much more work to have children. To have lives besides your own that you are responsible for -- I didn't take that on. That did make things easier for me. A baby -- that's all day, every day for eighteen years."

She also spoke about her concerns over monogamy to Instyle magazine in April.

"I don't know if anyone is really naturally monogamous. We all have the same instincts as animals. But we live in a society where it's been ingrained in us to do these things," she said.
