Race and cultural identity have always been difficult topics to portray on TV sitcoms. To do it effectively, a show must be earnest but also risky, walking the ever-so-delicate line between being culturally aware and being obsolete.

But ABC's black-ish looks like it'll provide smart racial commentary and ample laughs in plentiful proportions. Starring Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Laurence Fishburne, black-ish focuses on a black family struggling to find their identity in a predominately wealthy white neighborhood.
