Jimmy Kimmel to host the Oscars

Jimmy Kimmel will be taking his comedic chops to the Oscars stage.

The late-night ABC comedian will be hosting the biggest night in Hollywood this February, the Academy of Motion Pictures confirmed. The Academy retweeted the announcement made by the Jimmy Kimmel Live host on Twitter.

Kimmel had more big news on his show Monday. After talking about hosting the Oscars, he announced, "My wife is hosting a baby inside her body."

He and wife Molly McNearney also have a toddler, Jane.

This will be the first time hosting the Oscars for Kimmel, who has hosted the Emmys twice before.
