An era ended today for a television icon and a member of our ABC News family. This morning on 'The View,' Barbara Walters got a sendoff to remember.

Cheers resonated for Walters as she walked on to the set of ABC's "The View" for the very last time. Walters created the show 18 years ago. That's just one of the roles the 84-years-old has filled, sharing stories from around the world for 50 years.
