Singer Alecia 'P!nk' Moore may know how to kill it on the stage, but when it comes to responding to criticisms about her weight, she's taking a "kill them with kindness" approach.

"I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight," she wrote in a tongue-in-cheek message that now has thousands of shares.

She went on to express her disappointment that her looks at a recent benefit got more attention than the benefit itself. At the John Wayne 30th Annual Odyssey Ball in Los Angeles on Saturday, a good friend was honored for her work as a surgeon fighting cancer.

At the function, the singer was wearing a black dress with a plunging neckline. She admitted it was not as flattering as she initially thought. But that wasn't the point, she said.

After posting her first message, P!nk began posting humorous conversations she's had about her weight with her family, including her 2-year-old daughter, Willow.

The singer said her husband, Carey Hart, also has a positive opinion of her curves.

She also engaged with those criticizing her weight, retweeting an amusing response from a fan after someone called her a name and told her to "loose" weight.

Fans began sending her images of their own "squishy" bodies, and P!nk responded by calling them "gorgeous" and saying she loved the photos.

In her initial message, she went on to say that, no matter what anyone else says, she considers herself beautiful.

"I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off," she finished. "Thanks for you concern. Love, cheesecake."
