As the old saying goes, it takes a whole bunch of toys to fill a toy box. And this is definitely the case in the world of Disney-Pixar's Toy Story. While Woody, Buzz, and the gang may get the spotlight, there's an entire community of toys filling out the shelves and spaces under the bed.

Today, we celebrate those Toy Story background toys. They may be short on actual screentime and lines of dialogue, but they make up for it in cuteness and personality. Here are some of our favorites:

Smiling Stegosaurus

Smiling Stegosaurus might look intimidating at first due to his sharp teeth. But don't worry: he's an herbivore. (He's also not a real dinosaur). If Pink-Haired Troll Doll can trust him, then we can too.

Sunnyside Livestock

While these farm animal toys might seem more at home in Al's Toy Barn, they still are essential to the Sunnyside community. Every toy society needs a healthy livestock population, and these cows and horses (and zebra) provide that.

Giraffe Plush

This giraffe plush makes the perfect travelling buddy. He takes up enough space in the box to keep it from overcrowding, but is still soft enough to keep things from breaking in transit. Plus, he's able to offer a comfy shoulder (and neck) to lean on when needed.

The Cube Duo

These two sure seem like an unlikely pair. One's yellow; the other green. One has only one eye, a horn, and a pair of sharp fangs; the other a big smile and a pair of froggy flippers. Yet, through their shared cube-ness (and the lack of toy shelf space), they are able to live together in perfect harmony.

Snake

Snake has been with Woody and pals since the beginning. He's the strong and silent type, but can be pretty flexible in terms of helping his friends wiggle out of tricky situations.

Gang of Six

It's safe to say we would all watch a sitcom where Waving Dog, Cat Ready For A Hug, Squeaky Crocodile, MuscleMan, Robot With a Heart of Blue, and Indifferent Square Bear were roommates who got into crazy adventures.

Friendly Construction Worker

Look at this little guy. Sure, he may end up being one of Lotso's followers, but his huge smile just makes him look so happy and industrious. And his nifty hardhat shows that he really is serious about safety. If we were all tiny peg toys and lived in a quiet tiny peg town, we would definitely want this guy to be the friendly tiny peg neighborhood construction worker who said hello each day.

Which toy is your favorite? Are there any other unrecognized toys you'd like to add? Tell us in the comments!
