ABC7's Dan Ashley helped kick off the 17th Annual Friends of Camp Concord Golf Tournament to help raise money to send underserved kids to summer camp on Monday.

ALAMO, Calif. (KGO) -- Dan Ashley is working to raise money to send deserving kids to summer camp.

This is the 17th year of the Dan Ashley Friends of Camp Concord Golf Tournament, which took place at the Round Hill Country Club in Alamo.

Every year, the event sends around 500 kids to summer camp in South Lake Tahoe with all expenses paid.

"One of the most important things we do at Friends of Camp Concord is all of the kids we send out to South Lake Tahoe at summer camp are anonymous in terms of who's on scholarship and who isn't. The counselors don't know, the kids don't know. They just get to go up there and be kids," Ashley said.
